For my final college art show, I wanted to combine my 2 favourite forms of artistic expression, being character design and sewing.

So for this Project I wanted to create many unique character  designs and then turn one of those designs into a fully wearable costume. 

 

For the Design I ended up going with my dungeons and dragons character Rosa and there winter outfit ((which I took inspiration from a set of dnd dice I own ))

Every single part of this outfit was made from scratch, starting with even the patterns. I created my own patterns and got to work, the fabric is 3 layers of material, the top layer being a lighter blue sheer , middle a darker blue material and the last being the lining of black for the inside. 

I wanted a very specific colour and when I couldn't find it i just made it myself with the layering.

The stars on the hood and bottom are all embroidered and the moon and star designs on the back are stitched in, there is also little side details of hand stitching to give that hand made, fantasy vibe. 

​

Over all the outfit came out amazingly and photos and videos could never do justice.
